june work

monthly theme: [isolation]

Bart was all of us last year—but what does it mean now to be isolated and weird?

Is the work to isolate more or to assimilate back into whatever it was we abstained from for a year?

Or maybe to withstand the loneliness a little longer? To be within ourselves, finding a base level we’ve never seen before because we were always influenced and distracted by everything around us?

What did you notice about your isolation after sifting through old photos, diaries, and text messages from a year ago? Where do we go from here, moving forward with new knowledge in a new direction?

Did you meet new parts of yourself and shed old ones during the hours in your own company last year? Have you been able to celebrate and witness these changes yet? Enjoying the new depths of yourself can be part of the work. It doesn’t always have to feel like a punishment, pushing forward into the next. Sometimes we can land on something sweet and just breathe it in even when it begins to feel bitter as well.

Did you discover a new voice or boundary in isolation? Have you been able to put this awareness into action as the world expands in front of you?

What’s next and how has your isolation informed this prediction, expectation, or perspective?
